Before and After Examples from Advertising Retoucher John Deaville

Advertising Retoucher samples from some of my projects. I am currently updating this section to include before and after sliders. I am also adding  quicktime animations showing stages of the retouching process.

In the above image for Milwaukee Powertools, I enhanced this image by:

• creating a HDR version of the image by fusing multiple exposures of the image to create local contrast and detail
• altering the contrast and saturation of the image to highlight the key branding red colour
• selectively brushed highlight detail to emphasise the contours of teh image
• created debris and smoke to emphasise the drill action as well as making the subject ‘pop’

A few examples from a FA Lionesses shoot, from a series of around 100 selected shots taken in a studio. These images were all supplied as retouched cutouts to allow other designers to incorporate into other artwork.

In the above two images, which were a series of retouched cutouts for Chelsea FA, the images were:

• the kit and skin were seperated and treated seperately
• the skin has a treatment to create more local contrast/detail
• the images were all cutout and supplied so that designers can incorporate into artworks
